I am a 22 year old college student and I was originally an Obama supporter because of his inspirational speeches for change but when I examined the speeches closer I discovered there was very little substance behind his rhetoric on the issues. SO, I found myself witha case of buyer's remorse and had to switch my allegiance to Hillary. So, while I understand the immense passion for change that has been ignited by Obama, it seems he simply needs more practicle experience before he takes on the most important job in the nation.Hillary is simply more qualified for the job. Obama simply needs to simmer in experience for a few years as vice president or senator and then he will be the perfect candidate. There are atleast ten issues Hillary has more experience with then Obama but I will merely mention five.
1. Hillary has immense foreign relations experience with her numerous overseas visits during many of the international conflicts of the 90's. These numerous trips also mean she has standing relationships with many of the international leaders that will be notable in upcoming peace negotiations. In addition, I must point out that during the 1st Clinton presidency we had a generally peaceful relationship with many world leaders. If Hillary is in the White House it means we get Bill back too. I can't imagine a better tagteam for healing the scars that Bush has created in our foreign relations. Obama has no experience in foreign relations. Thats not derogatory, it's simply a fact..
2. Hillary has much more experience with education reform as well. Her work in Arkansas led to tangible results: teacher salaries doubled, class size fell significantly, learning standards and assessments were implemented, and students were given much greater access to higher-level science and foreign-language courses. What is Obama's experience with education reform? Again, 0.
3. Hillary has the most comprehensive plan for Universal Health Care. It is so important that this country develop a plan for everyone in America.Hillary has that plan and I know she can get this plan moving when she is President. Hillary had the forsight to know we needed UHC when she was first lady and now Obama has a plan which is essntially a carbon copy of hers. How do we know he will be able to help negotiate it or enact it. Hillary's experienc in the Senate gives her connections to get things done. I don't know if Obama can and it scares me. As a student, health insurance is a large expenditure that is too much of a drain in this economy and if Hillary's plan doesn't go through I will be forced to move somewhere with a more progressive health care system that takes care of every citizen, like Britain or France.
4. Hillary has a history of supporting the environment. She was for the ratification of the Kyoto treaty, a viable solution that many industrailized countries supported when many nations around the world realized the severity of the global warming crisis. She supports the expanded production of hydrogen powered vehicles and fueling staions which support an industry that would have zero carbon emissions. These are a mere snapshot of her numerous experiences with many of the solutions for America's contribution to the current global warming crisis.
5.Lastly, Hillary can help bandage the wounds in our economy. When her husband was President we had a trade surplus and now we are trillions of dollars in debt. Hillary can take us towards a renewed sense of peace and prosperity in this country, SHe will fight for the middle class and the struggling student, and the unemplyes. She fights for everybody and that is why she deserves to be president.
